Our Children’s Physiotherapists help babies, children and young people following serious and catastrophic injuries including brain injury, spinal injury and complex trauma, in addition to physical difficulties associated with neurological, neuromuscular, rheumatological or orthopaedic conditions. PaedsPhysio has extensive experience in providing treatment to individuals during and following litigation and recognises the important role and responsibilities we assume when providing rehabilitation to this client group. We have developed comprehensive assessment and treatment processes that result in long term improvements and provide detailed written, photographic and video records.

The PaedsPhysio team has extensive experience of working with Case Managers and Solicitors to provide rehabilitation for clients with complex needs during and following the litigation process. Our approach is aspirational, yet realistic, with the aim of maximising independence and maintaining health.

PaedsPhysio accepts instructions to complete Initial Needs Assessments (INA) to identify rehabilitation requirements and to provide recommendations for treatment, technology and equipment needs. Our reports are comprehensive, and our treatment programmes are goal directed and holistic. We welcome initial enquiries and offer meet and greet consultations via video without charge to ensure that our Paediatric Physiotherapist is the most appropriate for the client and to begin the process of establishing a therapeutic relationship.

PaedsPhysio provides a comprehensive domiciliary service in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and North London & West London. Our provision is however expanding so if your enquiry relates to a visit outside of these areas please do contact us. If we are unable to help we may be able to assist in recommending a more local Paediatric Physiotherapist.

PaedsPhysio will work with children and young people within their own homes or within school or nursery settings, wherever is the most appropriate location for intervention.

PaedsPhysio provides effective, targeted treatment. Our Paediatric Physiotherapists maintain high levels of professional standards and training which means that our treatment approaches are constantly evolving to ensure they’re the very best.

Children’s Physiotherapy treatments vary according to the child’s condition, age, ability, and the specific goals of therapy. Treatment strategies may include the use of specific equipment to facilitate movement, strengthening and functional progression, gaining or maintaining ranges of movement and posture as the child grows. Treatments are based around play activities and games for babies and younger children in order to make sessions fun and motivating, with activities becoming part of a daily routine to ensure optimal outcomes.

PaedsPhysio will work intensively with children following interventions such as Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy, Botulinum Toxin Injections, insertion of intrathecal baclofen pump and following orthopaedic surgery.

Your Children’s Physio will liaise with other professionals involved in the child’s care including NHS physiotherapist to ensure a holistic approach to treatment is agreed.

Our Paediatric Physiotherapists provide structured exercises (supported by videos and photographs), hands-on treatment, video analysis, retraining of movement, recommendation of specialist equipment including walking aids. If appropriate we support children and their families to identify and access community focussed activities.

All PaedsPhysio consultations are one hour in duration, unless previously agreed. A comprehensive assessment may necessitate a longer initial meeting which would be agreed with you before taking place.

PaedsPhysio is open Monday to Friday, 8.30a.m. to 5p.m. If we are in a consultation and unable to answer your call, please leave a message and one of our team will return it as soon as possible. You can also make enquires via our contact page.

PaedsPhysio requires 24-hours’ notice of any cancellation and failure to do so may result in the full fee being charged. We do however recognise that sometimes our client’s complex needs necessitate changes to their timetables at short notice and we therefore seek to avoid cancellation charges when late notice cancellations are reasonable.
