Post-Surgical Rehabilitation in Children

Helping children move forward after surgery

Helping children move forward after surgery.

Post-surgical rehabilitation refers to the specialised care and support provided to children following an operation. Common procedures include correction of clubfoot (Talipes), surgery for developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH), scoliosis surgery, fracture repairs, tendon lengthening, osteotomies, arthrodesis, and brachial plexus repair. At PaedsPhysio, we offer experienced, family-friendly physiotherapy for children recovering from these and other surgeries. We tailor our rehabilitation plans to each child’s goals and abilities. Our aim is to reduce pain and stiffness, support safe movement, improve strength and confidence, and help families feel informed and involved throughout recovery.
  • Reduced strength or mobility in the affected limb or area.
  • Pain, stiffness or altered movement patterns.
  • Fear or anxiety about moving again.
  • Delays returning to daily activities or play.
  • Changes in walking, balance or posture.
  • Loss of confidence or independence.
