PaedsPhysio works with children and young people across Essex, including Chelmsford and Brentwood. Our therapists come to you, whether that is at home, at nursery or in school, so treatment fits around your child’s routine rather than interrupting it.
Rather than bringing your child to a clinic, we bring the appointment to them. Home, nursery, school and outdoor spaces all work, and using the space your child already knows means the programme fits into daily life immediately.
This approach also puts the adults in the room. Parents, carers and teaching assistants can practise alongside us and ask the questions they would never get to ask in a busy clinic. Our who we help page details who we work with day to day.
We start with a full paediatric assessment, assessing movement, strength, posture and balance alongside the ordinary tasks your child is struggling with. Goals come next, agreed with the family, and from those we build a treatment programme around what matters. The targets are practical ones, from independent sitting and standing through to playground participation and getting through a school day comfortably.
Our neurological physiotherapy service works with children affected by cerebral palsy, brain injury, spinal cord injury, spina bifida and peripheral nerve injuries including Erb’s palsy.
Surgical and traumatic presentations are covered by our surgical and orthopaedic physiotherapy, covering trauma and fractures, care after selective dorsal rhizotomy, treatment after surgery, and amputee rehabilitation.
Our work in neuromuscular conditions includes muscular dystrophy, spinal muscular atrophy and juvenile myasthenia gravis. Our genetic conditions service extends to Down’s syndrome and Rett syndrome.
A named diagnosis is not a requirement. We often see children with developmental delay and coordination difficulties, and the general run of children’s physiotherapy presentations covering hypermobility, plagiocephaly, torticollis, Perthes disease and positional talipes.
Where a family, school or legal team needs something in writing, we provide physiotherapy reports detailing our findings and the support we recommend. We also offer training and consultancy for education and care staff in Essex supporting children with complex physical needs.
Case managers supporting children in Essex instruct us for assessment, treatment and ongoing review. Our case managers page outlines how we fit alongside the rest of a child’s team.
Chelmsford and Brentwood are our current areas of cover in Essex, and we travel to surrounding towns and villages. Please ask if you are elsewhere in the county.
No referral is required. Reach us on 0800 915 3288 or hello@physio4you.co.uk, or through the form, and tell us how old your child is and what you have been noticing. More about the PaedsPhysio team is available, along with our frequently asked questions if that would help.
